Muskies are not good eating, they have lots of bones and a high level of mercury. They are also a very uncommon fish, and a fish that is caught for sport, not food. In the time it takes to catch a musky, you could catch much more meat from walleyes (which are the best eating).

My brothers co worker is fishing in Alaska, everyone would think this is a fish story but it is true. He caught an estimated 50 lb kingsalmon when an Orca- killer whale bit the fish in half 15 feet from the boat.

A Marker Buoy or Tournament Buoy. my last Bass Pro Shop Catalog from Summer 2007 lists them a 2 pack for $5.99. They are really used for marking your position and they are used alot to this day. Alot like me places one at the foot next to the trolling motor and when a fish bites kick it over into the water so if your boat drifts back you can use the trolling motor to get back to your same position.

It is just to mark his position. Not used too much these days, most boats have GPS. If you find a hump or structure that holds fish you could chuck a marker down and drift over it. Or if fish shut down you could leave the area for a while and it will help find your spot later.

Good day smirko,Tarpon is an well known fish that jump a lot during the fight, and yes i agree the line tightening part you had mentioned but not all kind of fishes you could make e fish jump like this. they are forcing them to jump by pulling the line so hard, looks spectaculaire but if they want to realize them its not a good method to catch fish.... you can force almost any fish race to jump like this :>
